INEC may have decided to postpone the February 14 polls.

Some hours ago,the news of the postponement of the Feb 14 polls first popped on the internet and spread like wild fire, but when we tried to confirm this from INEC, there was no official statement from INEC about it.

However, hints suggests that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), may have decided to postpone the February 14 presidential and legislative elections by six weeks.

The development arose from a marathon meeting between INEC officials and politicians in Abuja

According to naijaloaded.com.ng, all parties at the meeting except the All People`s Congress(APC) sided with the postponement.
The proposed shift might be to secure Boko Haram threatened areas in North East Nigeria and also allow for proper distribution of the PVC in the affected area.

Whatever be the outcome of the meeting, INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega is expected to make an official announcement at a press conference scheduled for 5pm, later today being 7/2/2015.

All fingers crossesd.
